Another beautiful spring day!
and if you look closely and compare this picture to yesterday’s view of the same area, you will see the water levels have started to creep up ever so slightly.
looking in this direction, the Harrison River is now appearing along the far shore, rather than just being able to see gravel bars.
speaking of looking in that direction – the young Great Blue Heron was over at the edge of the little pond over there. There were lots of the usual Tree Swallows, Red-wing Blackbirds, even more American Goldfinch today but also, keeping with the ‘sparrow’ theme started yesterday…
a White-crowned Sparrow. The above picture wasn’t taken at the log bay – the one I took there wasn’t worth posting, but this one was in my yard this morning.
That light coloured gull was at the log bay again.
Spotted Towhee were along the trail, as well as Ruby-crowned Kinglets. An American Robin was gathering nesting material…
but spotting the first Yellow-rump Warbler of the season was the highlight of the day. Not a great picture I know!
and lastly there was a Douglas Squirrel running around in the bushes.
