Bewick's

Today turned out to be a lot nicer than expected....

snow was low down on all the surrounding hillsides but the sun was shining most of the time.

this Bald Eagle was overseeing the area....

while this American Robin was enjoying these berries....

after lunch we headed over to Harrison Bay....

where things continue to be quiet....

but still managed to spot a Downy Woodpecker, this time a female, in the same general area so will have to keep an eye out for a nesting site.

the Bald Eagle pair were perched out on one of the pilings....

while this Canada Goose was on another while her mate was on a nearby log boom.

The exciting find of the day....

was finding a Bewick's Wren....now the above photo wasn't taken today, I didn't manage to get a picture of the one today.  This photo was taken a couple of years ago in another area, but there was a pair of Bewick's near the dike last year so happy to find they are still here.

Not as exciting, but more cooperative for photos....

were a few Song Sparrows.

Now sadly, remember the Sharp-shin Hawk that had been hanging around our yard a few days ago....

well.....sometimes birds eat birds.....today he got a Steller's Jay.
